Meet the author!

STEPHEN KING (1947 - present) Stephen Edwin King (born September 21, 1947 in Portland, ME, U.S.) is one of the most acclaimed horror writers in his genre. He has written almost 100 works, and he has been nominated for 170 awards during his career.  King graduated from the University of Maine in 1970, and later worked in different jobs, while he wrote his first novel, Carrie , which was a huge success the minute it was published, in 1974. He has been interested in writing since he was very young. In fact, he wrote some short stories which were published in the newspaper. He explains this in his autobiographical work, On Writing - this is an account of his early youth and beginnings as a writer, but it is also a "manual" on how to be a good writer. He explains:  "One day late in my final semester at college, finals over and at loose ends, I recalled the dyehouse guy’s story about the rats under the mill—big as cats, goddam, some as big as dogs—and start

Stephen King is known for being the master of the horror genre. There is no possible doubt that he has written some books that would scare the heck out of you. Some of his stories would probably leave you with a kind of uncomfortable feeling, and some of us were not able to sleep for weeks because we were afraid of monsters hidden in the wardrobe and crazy dogs. But Stephen King has also written some books that would fall into the category of thriller, science fiction, and even young-adult adventures. A writer who does not only focus his production on one exclusive genre deserves unconditional love and worship, and that is exactly what we are doing in this post! However, we know that you might not like those genres, so that's why we are posting here those books written by Stephen King which will probably surprise you! Stephen King's literary production is so prolific it has been adapted to the big screen in multiple occasions. His horrific classics have been produced by grand directors like Tommy Lee Wallace, director of the 1990  It  miniseries, or Stanley Kubrick, director of 1980  The Shining . Some of his novels were granted with more than one adaptation. This is the case of  Carrie , a 1974 novel that has been taken adapted to film in 1976 by director Brian De Palma and in 2013 by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and to Broadway in 1988. The coming years will be thrilling to the hordes of SK fans who populate our planet. In 2019, there will be a remake of the 1983 novel Pet Sematary , which was first adapted in 1989, and which presents a family who moves to a small neighbourhood, and who discovers an old pet cemetery, where legend says that pets who are buried there come back to life. In other words, he has not only written several genius novels (and short stories, novellas, essays, and works of criticism), but he has written a lot of them—50 novels to date, in fact, number 51 came up a few weeks ago. Loads of Stephen King's novels have been many times adapted for the screen and, indeed, when we say many times, we mean many times.
